Position Summary:
The Resource Demand Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the MA DU flex and internal resources according to the MA DU Resource Management strategy. They are responsible to allocate resources at the trial-level based on organizational priorities.
This role is responsible to optimize resource utilization of MA DU resources by collaborating with stakeholders to identify and resolve resource-related conflicts and manage competing priorities. Oversee the maintenance of allocation decisions, resource requests and assignments.
The Resource Demand Manager is also responsible for tracking and reporting resource utilization by analyzing data and providing suggestions for resource optimization. The Resource Demand Manager is responsible to update and manage the MA DU Resourcing metrics, using these metrics to discuss ways of continuous improvement with MA DU LT, Head of Flex Resource Management and flex resource suppliers. In addition, provide support and expertise to line functions, in agile, resource management, resource load, balancing, real allocations, and reparations, as applicable
This role will also generate periodic (month, quarterly), resource reports for managing resource, demand, resource supply, variance from forecast, resource, rebalancing and forecast global resources for budget cycles.
Principal Responsibilities:
Coordinates with MA DU leaders and Head of Flex Resource Management to identify resource needs ongoing and upcoming projects. Operationalizes and executes the MA DU Resource Management strategy, together with the Head of Flex Resources and Head Trial Management. Owns and maintains the Hiring Action Plan. Oversees that the appropriate outsourcing strategy is applied. Ensures efficient trial-level resource allocation.

Collaborates with stakeholders to resolve resource-related conflicts and manage priorities, maintaining detailed records of allocation decisions and assignments.

Conducts regular reviews of portfolio review activities and ensure actionable requests are communicated and completed by suppliers. Track and report on resource utilization, offering insights and suggestions for optimization. Generate periodic resource reports for managing resource demand and supply, variance from forecasts, and rebalancing. Update and manage Flex Resourcing metrics for continuous improvement discussions with leadership.

Manage flex resource supplier relationships and hold regular meetings to communicate status, resource needs, monitor potential risks and manage issue escalation.

Participates in issue escalation activities with suppliers and ensures resolution and communication of issues to avoid reoccurrence.

Additional Responsibilities may Include:

Ensures updates of J&J supply systems (JJEDS, 1-Supply)

Fosters employee engagement, inclusion, and Credo Behaviors.

Principal Relationships:
Internal: Functional Contacts within J&J (as collaborator and peer) include but are not limited to MA DU Leadership Team, employees from other departments within Global Development, Human Resources; Finance, IT, J&J R&D Procurement and External Alliances.

External: External contacts include but are not limited to external partners including CRO operational committees and industry peers and working groups

Education and Experience Requirements:
Required Minimum Education:

BS degree or equivalent.

Required Years of Related Experience:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership function in clinical operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Excellent people leadership skills. People management experience of 5-7+ years is strongly preferred.

· 3+ years of project management.

· Knowledge of Functional Service Provider (FSP) and Staff Augmentation Management or equivalent industry experience is preferred

· Demonstrated track record of working with and overseeing vendors.

· A good understanding of clinical development

· Good knowledge of regulatory guidance documents such as ICH requirements.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills, including effective negotiation and influencing skills.

· Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.

· Demonstrated interpersonal skills to build relationships, act as change agent, and adapt to rapidly changing organizational & business challenges.

· Demonstrated experience working in a customer focused environment.
