We are seeking someone hardworking and passionate about changing the world we live in, to support the growth of residential and commercial storage in Japan to successfully launch our products into a variety of different customer applications.

Tesla is seeking a Technical Business Development Manager for residential energy. As a Technical Business Development Manager, you will help expand Tesla’s business in the Japan region. This is a cross-functional role that requires coordination between many different groups within and outside of Tesla. You’ll be required to wear various hats, collaborating across teams such as sales, product engineering, compliance, policy, business operations and technical teams to ensure the successful operationalization of new partnerships, programs and products, maximizing our impact on the energy transition.

Success in this role requires an excellent technical foundation to understand the hardware/software products we are deploying in the physical world. In parallel, you must have a strong desire and proven ability of being an effective leader who surfaces key issues early in a product launch lifecycle, offers strategic solutions, and drives action across an international organization.

業務内容
• Be responsible for achieving volume sales within assigned channel(s)

• Expand sales channels by identifying new partners and supporting contract negotiation

• Anticipate new business opportunities with accounts and identify suitable product offerings to satisfy customer requirements

• Contribute input regarding Tesla’s product and sales strategy for the region

• Provide product feedback to technical team regarding fit and applicability of product design and offering

• Maintain an understanding of market dynamics across relevant sectors (e.g. retail energy, utility, commercial, residential, etc.) and drivers (e.g. policy/regulatory, techno-economics, etc.)

• Define and execute a winning Go-To-Market plan for new energy products, features, and services

• Effectively scope, drive, and launch products, programs and process change initiatives

• Identify and support the sales team to bring new offers, programs and new concepts to the market (such as VPPs, PPAs and leasing offers)

• Provide product training and support to sales teams and B2B partners to ensure they are knowledgeable about Powerwall products

• Collaborate across teams to develop sales collateral, training materials and other tools to support the teams


応募資格(必須経験など)

応募条件
• Electrical background or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or technical discipline

• Fluency in Japanese and English

• Direct experience in the introduction of new hardware products and software features

• Direct experience in making a cross-functional change happen within an organization

• Direct experience and comfortability interfacing with external customers

• Familiarity with solar, energy storage, general electrical concepts, and home construction is a strong plus

• Effective communication and exceptional interpersonal skills

• A relentless drive to make things happen

• Ability to operate independently to solve complex, ambiguous product/operational problems

• Experience and comfort working with large datasets to drive decision making

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment
