WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will help McKinsey consultants and clients by collecting, summarizing, analyzing, and synthesizing information that helps solve specific business problems – with a focus on the Telecommunications and/or High Tech domain.
You will conduct primary and secondary research, leveraging proprietary and third-party data sources and manage day-to-day workflow. You will prepare findings in the form of client-ready end products which could be PowerPoint presentations and/or Excel models. You will collaborate with our global team to share and build knowledge, best practices and relevant new ideas. You will codify knowledge and help support the continuous improvement of our knowledge operations, innovating firm knowledge and knowledge delivery through special projects (both with client teams and on a stand-alone basis).
Over time, you will develop expertise in a specific area within the Telecommunications or High Tech sector, acting as a thought partner to McKinsey senior leadership and our clients. As you grow there will be opportunities to be involved in consulting engagements - serving clients either remotely or on-site.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, social sciences, or engineering; master’s degree is a plus
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
Working experience in the telecommunications industry or research would be an advantage
Good understanding of financial, economic, and general business concepts and terminologyGood time-management skills and a flexible attitude, with ability to meet tight deadlines and handle simultaneous work streams
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment
Professional attitude and service orientation
Entrepreneurial and a self-starter who enjoys the challenges and rewards of research work in a dynamic and changing environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese
