WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
You will work in Tokyo as part of Build by McKinsey. Build by McKinsey is the firm's technology delivery people unit—a global team of leading technologists, passionate designers, software, data and cloud engineers, technology architects, and product managers.
You’ll also join a global team working on everything from strategy to agile, cloud, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. You’ll typically work on projects across all industries and functions and will be fully integrated with the rest of our global firm.
You’ll also work with colleagues from across McKinsey & Company to help our clients deliver breakthrough products, experiences, and businesses, both on technology and non-technology topics.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You'll identify the hidden business needs and objectives of the client through the consultation work performed in Japanese and English business discussions.
You'll understand the business needs and objectives of the client and identify the strategy for technology solutions aligning with above goals. You'll leverage expertise to influence solution strategy and roadmap. You'll design and develop technological architecture for new or existing systems, including software and cloud components.
You'll identify and evaluate new and emerging technologies that can be leveraged to improve the client’s technology infrastructure, assets and resources. You'll lead problem solving with client and teams on technology topics and provide robust recommendations for component selection and topology patterns.
You'll manage and coordinate the work of relevant team in the firm and/or client, such as designers, product managers, developers and system administrators, and business stake holders to ensure that solutions are implemented according to desired needs and goals. You'll collaborate with other departments in the firm and/or client, such as product management and operations, to ensure that solutions are integrated with the organization's overall business strategy. You'll communicate & interpret technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, such as business leaders and managers as well as translate business requirements into technical ones.
You'll provide guidance and direction to other members of the technical team on best practices, standards, and methodologies. You'll continuously monitor and assess the performance of system, product or solution architected, and make adjustment as necessary to ensure they meet the needs of the client.
You'll stay informed about industry trends and developments to ensure the client's technology solutions remain competitive. You'll implement relevant industry specific standards across workstreams.
You'll act as a liaison among the other teams in the firm, external partners and collaborators, as needed. You'll contribute to the firm’s body of knowledge in architecture and maintain active tech followership of colleagues at the chapter and guild level.

QUALIFICATIONS
Leadership: Leading the team with talented members and making proper decisions in appropriate timing is required to guide the project to the success
Architecture: Strong experiences in architecture and design of advanced computing systems with solid understanding of design patterns and architecture frameworks are required
Technology: Strong & wide technological understandings, implementation experiences are must-have including knowledge of modern programming languages, databases, operating systems, network infrastructure as well as multi-tier architecture design in on-prem/cloud/hybrid environment. Experience with full-lifecycle embedded product development, testing, including architecture and design
Communications: Professional level of effective communication skills with stakeholders both technical and non-technical personnel is must-have capability. Translation capability from technical concepts & ideas into business needs, requirements and documents as well as from business requirements into technical ones is also required
Business: In-depth & correct understandings of business purpose, goal, strategy, objective, strategy is basis for this role to make the project successProject management: Involving in the project from start to finish, project management with on time & within budget project delivery is key capability. Experience in SAFe or Agile development
Education: BS or above in computer science, software engineering or a related technology field. Certifications for major cloud platforms & cloud solutions will be great addition
Language: native/bilingual level Japanese and business level English speaking
