Your Team
The global Corporate Communications team at BlackRock is responsible for internal and external communications efforts that advance BlackRock’s purpose of helping more and more people experience financial well-being. We work to develop compelling communications programs that enhance the firm’s culture, drive growth, strengthen our reputation, and build our brand.

Your Role and Impact

This is a dedicated role responsible for developing the communications strategy, and driving and executing impactful communications initiatives in Japan. The candidate will manage day-to-day media engagement with the support of a PR agency in Japan, to drive proactive commercially-oriented campaigns, grow BlackRock’s share-of-voice in the local market, and manage the firm’s reputation.

You will report to the Head of Corporate Communications for Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong. You will also partner more broadly with colleagues across the Global and APAC Communications teams, as well as stakeholders in different business groups to ensure the firm’s purpose is effectively communicated to key stakeholder groups.

Your Responsibilities

Lead our profile and improve BlackRock’s reputation by driving impactful communication programs that align with the firm’s key areas of growth.
Develop differentiated messaging for the firm and its retail, institutional and iShares businesses in Japan.
Develop media strategy and story ideas for key focus areas. Maintain strong working relationships with business/financial and trade media (print/broadcast/digital/social) in Japan.
Handle and field media enquiries, and manage media engagement initiatives with support from local PR agency partner.
Able to develop high-impact content including press releases, by-lined articles, media statement, key messages, media Q&As and briefing documents for spokespeople.
Develop strong connectivity with key internal stakeholders in Japan, Asia Pacific and globally (including Japan Board of Directors, senior leadership team, client business, portfolio management, product development, capital markets, marketing, legal and compliance, human resources).
Manage broader BlackRock corporate related reputational issues as they arise, working closely with APAC-based colleagues and other internal stakeholders, as appropriate.
Drive and support relevant employee communications in collaboration with local business channels, human resources, employee networking groups and APAC Corporate Communications team.


応募資格(必須経験など)

Your Experience

Excellent command of English and Japanese, both spoken and written.
15+ years of experience in a corporate communications or public affairs function, ideally in the financial services sector, either in-house or with an external agency.
Detailed understanding of financial services, asset management and capital markets, as well as issues facing institutional and individual investors.
A wealth of investment knowledge on active and index products including ETFs.
An upbeat team player and driven self-starter, with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
Ability to multitask and operate with flexibility in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines.
Strong project management skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.
Excellent verbal communication skills and exceptional writing ability.
Ability to accommodate to US and EMEA time zones and different cultures to facilitate cross regional team coordination.
Ability to build relationships with our executives, journalists and colleagues around the world.
Ability to understand different working style preferences and track record of working optimally with senior executives, and providing strategic input on internal and external engagement efforts.
