The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day financial accounting, ensure tax compliance and the successful reporting of 5+ Japan incorporated entities. The position is based in our KKR Tokyo office.
Key Criteria
Detailed knowledge with expertise in preparing and reviewing monthly management report packs for both US GAAP (via SAP) and also at local GAAP level with the ability to reconcile both sets of accounts.
Strong knowledge of the Japan GAAP and local requirement and to ensure the local entities is compliant.
Excellent Excel / IT skills.
Experience in effectively working in a small organization.
Detail orientated.
Good experience and knowledgeable in preparing regulatory reports (e.g.Type 1 license reporting).
Desirable Criteria
Experience business partnering.
Knowledge of SAP or a similar accounting system.
Ability to build strong relationships with third parties.
Responsibilities
Lead in the delivery of month end close via SAP for Japan entities and complying with Group and Asia deadlines.
Presenting monthly financials to the management.
Proactively ensuring local tax filings are complete, accurate and are delivered on time. Be confident in the ability to deal with local tax officials covering firm matters when needed.
To lead team efficiencies with the continuous streamlining of local team work processes and procedures (covering good house-keeping, reconciliations, also the effective use of finance systems via SAP, Concur and VIM).
Delivery of the regulatory reporting and all statutory taxes deadlines are achieved.
To support Asia regional Finance on projects matters covering Japan and to take the lead in delivering the work on time.
Act as the main Japan Finance business partner with local teams as well as interacting with Finance teams both in the USA and Asia.
To support FP&A matters covering budget, forecast and various analytical preparation.
Building strong and effective relationships with the Office Manager & Compliance Officer, support staffs, Group Asset Management Company, local third parties, banks, vendors and accounting firm.

Candidate Profile
Recognised accounting qualification or has 7+ year experience in a foreign-affiliated organisation.
Experience working within a financial services environment.
