We are currently seeking a creative, driven, and forward-thinking sourcing and procurement professional to join our Data Center Services Procurement team in APJC.

This role focuses on identifying and onboarding construction and associated CAPEX related professional services suppliers in new AWS regions. The role develops and leverages market intelligence to develop a sustainable supplier base in these new regions and revisits existing regions to ensure a sustainable supplier pool is maintained or redeveloped. You will create new region sourcing plans and quickly deliver these (through supplier onboarding, interviews and contract negotiations) to enable internal customer teams to meet tight schedules. It is critical that you identify new ways to forge partnerships with new suppliers, evaluate suppliers' performance against clearly defined metrics, and balance priorities of, both, Amazon and our suppliers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. You will continually monitor the effectiveness of these new partnerships and take appropriate actions to ensure ongoing competitive sustainability of our supplier markets for upcoming projects.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following

We are focused on our customers and empowering them to have a more significant impact in their roles. This role engages in/and ensures ethical, transparent and professional transactions and takes ownership of the CAPEX services procurement functions to maintain healthy supplier dynamics, promote supplier diversity, and consistently improve supplier performance.

Key job responsibilities
Identify viable construction and professional services suppliers in new regions through insightful and specific market intelligence.
Negotiate contract terms with new suppliers (new regions and where required in existing regions), and ensure they understand Amazon's business requirements.
Establish new region supplier sourcing strategies and timelines that address specifics of each region including local language, ease of doing business with suppliers in-market, existing supplier availability, etc., and then acting as a project manager to drive the strategies to completion.
Ensure sustainability in future competitive activities by implementing mechanisms or leading indicators triggering mitigation activities in new regions and where required, existing regions.
Coordinate and communicate frequently and professionally with internal customers and stakeholders on the status of sourcing and procurement activities for new regions.
Develop and lead supplier- and customer-focused training that enable them to partner more closely with your business unit.
Establish key internal metrics and utilize them to monitor and improve performance against business objectives, make informed business decisions and maintain sustainable supplier pools for future sourcing
Drive process improvement initiatives that positively impact customers, stakeholders, and the team.
Create procedures and tools and simplifying those that already exist.


応募資格(必須経験など)

Basic Qualifications
7+ years' relevant experience leading supplier and contract negotiations in diverse countries and across diverse categories.
Demonstrated ability to operate in an ambiguous and fast-pasted environment with significant autonomy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English language
Strong project management skills.
Ability to internationally travel on short notice.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and with multiple teams.
Strong process improvement background with an emphasis on internal and external performance improvement and effectiveness mechanisms.
Strong analysis skills especially with regards to developing market intelligence, drawing insights and communicating those insight to internal customers.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience
Advanced degree (JD, MBA, International Business)
Fluent in languages beyond Japanese and English.
Experience executing business transactions in multiple countries.
PMP, Six Sigma or similar certification.
Demonstrated success in a metrics-oriented environment and an ability to create, track, and report out on metrics
Experience supporting data center construction procurement or data center operations procurement.
