As a Barclays FX Full Stack Java Developer – Assistant Vice President, you will be a part of Java full stack development projects for the Markets Execution department. You will design and develop new components, which will include ongoing re-implementations of the existing codebase, extensions thereof and ongoing support of those systems.

What will you be doing?
Developing solutions to problems both tactical and strategic as the business requires it
Working closely with the business users to take note of requirements and deliver high quality solutions
Providing estimates for tasks, including design, development and testing
Leading and supporting the low-latency system to meet the business requirements
Communicating with senior stakeholders to know their requirements and manage their expectations of delivery
Proposing solutions to complex problems related to existing system architecture

What We’re Looking For
Excellent Java programming skills
Experience designing and developing REST APIs
Background in Spring & Spring Boot
Knowledge of standard development and build tools, e.g. GIT, TeamCity
Skills That Will Help You In The Role
Knowledge of HTML5 / JavaScript – particularly React
Experience working with application containers such as Docker
Experience of working with a micro service architecture, cloud infrastructure and principles
Expertise in database ORMs e.g. Hibernate
