What You'll Do
You will typically lead a team of 3-5 consultants to help clients achieve new performance highs.
You will lead the day to day execution of a client project while guiding and developing individual team members. You’ll work directly with clients – when possible on site – and you’ll take ownership of the overall project and its end products.
You will make an important contribution to the analysis, design and implementation of business performance approaches, developing tailor-made solutions and working closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results. You will have the opportunity to build on your proven leadership skills and leverage your interest in inspiring others, building strong relationships and creating a true followership. In a collaborative team setting, you'll work closely with others but also autonomously with little direction.
Client project work typically includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations for presentation to client management. From there, you will implement those recommendations with client team members.
You’ll also gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. Consultants receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues and senior leaders on their teams.
McKinsey Digital consultants work on the same types of engagements as anyone else at McKinsey. On balance, however, we do more technology and digital-related projects than others at the firm. In addition, our consultants develop particular expertise on how to leverage IT/digital to drive business success whether in a particular industry or in a functional area.

Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree ideally in computer science, engineering or related field; advanced degree or MBA is preferred
8+ years of professional experience; solid functional knowledge in digital or/and IT related fields including, but not limited to, digital transformations, analytics, digital business building, business oriented IT strategy, IT cost portfolio optimization, end to end business process redesign with ERP, modern architecture strategy with cloud journey design, capability building and insourcing with agile type of development, product owner and cybersecurity strategy
Manager or above experience at a consulting firm is a plus
Ability to excel at solving problems that require logical reasoning and creative thinking; comfort with numbers and the ability to untangle complex issues
Demonstrated leadership within or outside a work setting
Eager to break new ground as seen through leadership roles
Demonstrated career trajectory; evidence of taking on larger responsibilities and/or more senior roles
Strategic management perspective
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Fluency in English and Japanese
