With more than 600 offices in 33 countries, the successful candidate will work in a global team under the umbrella of storage operations. The Enterprise Computing Storage Operations Level 3 team is responsible for maintaining and protecting business data using a combination of the latest innovative technologies and operational tools.
The storage operations team core function is to serve as the highest level of escalation for the Level 1 Command Center and Level 2 operational teams. Provide level 3 escalation & on-call support for in house developed software and 3rd party products for a large global distributed environment. Proactive health & hygiene tasks to maintain operational stability and compliance for risk & control programs to ensure the production environment is not put at risk. Collaborate with engineering teams to test and certify new hardware & software products and engage with clients to understand business demand, needs & support during outage scenarios. Weekend project work responsibilities to on-board new storage assets for growth or large programmes such as new datacentre build outs.

The ideal storage operations candidate has a proven history of supporting storage technologies into an enterprise environment, strong communication skills and is a highly organized self-starter who adds value by listening & responding to the client needs.
Strong working knowledge of the storage industry for both off-line, on-line and related storage technologies is essential e.g. Backup, Storage Array, SAN NAS technologies. An equivalent of at least 3 years experience in a large distributed environment with a thorough understanding of Unix to solid system administration level and a comprehensive understanding of TCP IP and associated technologies NFS, CIFS, NIS, DNS. Competent scripter to support in-house developed tools and products Korn Shell or Perl coding. Ability to troubleshoot, resolve complex problems, with a fix it once for everywhere and automation mentality. Strong communication skills and a sense of global ownership are required. High levels of motivation, initiative and a proactive or 'self-starter' approach to work is essential.

Enterprise Storage solutions (NetApp ONTAP, Hitachi, IBM GPFS/Spectrum, Pure array)
Protocol - SAN, also S3 and Object storage(Dell ECS/Hitachi HCP
SAN switches and Fabric OS
Symantec Storage Foundation - Veritas
Disaster recovery(DR), Business continuity plan(BCP) and High Availability(HA)
Solaris and Linux (Red-hat) administration with more on system and disk performance
Trident experience would be an added advantage
Containers (Eg: Docker/Kubernetes)
Data storage security and data migration
Good To Have And Is a Plus
NIS and DNS
Symantec NetBackup 7.x
Scripting (Eg: Shell, Perl or Python)
Monitoring tools (Eg: Splunk and grafana)
Change/Incident/Problem Management(Eg: Through Service Now)
Understanding of Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkin
