Morgan Stanley Investment Management Technology (MSIM IT) is looking for a Developer / Business Analyst to be based in Tokyo office. The individual will work with a local team and partner with global peers to provide coverage/support for MSIM Japan business.
The role will include development and enhancement of the existing production systems with software development life cycle, and the individual will work with business stakeholders through effective communication, expert analysis and quality customer service to drive key technology initiatives and support the overall business in MSIM Japan.

QUALIFICATIONS
The right candidate:
- Has solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Can work closely with the business to understand their needs and priorities, analyze requirement and deliver technical solutions with leadership and effective communication. This would include coordination with other teams and management of vendors who provide 3rd party technical solution.
- Provides ownership for strategic initiatives/projects and supports L3 issues for currently live systems.
- Hands-on project management experience with excellent verbal and written skill; ability to create high quality and accurate communication with key stakeholders
- Has excellent analytical and problem solving skills that are coupled with strong communication, anticipates issues and deals with them proactively.
- Self-sufficient and show ability to lead given the opportunity
- Is team oriented, highly collaborative, works effectively to build strong long term partnerships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and across a variety of business and IT functions.
- Be comfortable expressing ideas in meetings, design sessions, etc.
Primary skill set:
- Business analysis – focused on investment management domain, portfolio accounting concepts
- Hands on with Core Java, Spring Boot, Web services (REST/SOAP)
- Hands on with Database and SQLs – preferably DB2/Sybase
- DevOps - Git, Jenkins, Junit, Sonar, Mockito, Treadmill
- Working knowledge on Angular, JavaScript
- Working knowledge of UNIX/LINUX scripting languages (e.g. Perl/Shell)
- Bilingual in English and Japanese
