In this role, the Vice President will be involved in driving and supporting fundraising efforts and relationships with domestic large financial institutions and global private banks (distributors) as well as domestic asset management companies (sub-advisory partners) in Japan. The role will have significant interface with members of the firm’s global PWS group across all Blackstone investment funds, legal/compliance department, finance and other groups within the firm. In addition to the primary objective of driving sales volume for product launches, as well as maintaining close relationships with distributors. The role will also support and spearhead multiple projects at one time such as conducting market research, project management for product launches, execution of distribution agreement negotiations, client due diligence and onboarding, marketing material requests, roadshow and the fund closing process by collaborating with other PWS Japan members.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have:
• 7+ years’ relevant work experience
• Hands-on knowledge and experience within the asset management industry in Japan, existing networks with distributors or sub-advisory partners would be preferred
• A high level of attention to detail
• Native level communication skills (spoken and written) in Japanese and good business level in English would be good but not essential
• Great presentation skills (internally involving senior management, externally for business partners and end-clients)
• A desire to work in a team environment, often under pressure
• Experience in project management and if the experience is across global/NY-based teams, that will be a plus
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
