As a member of the Asia-Pacific Credit Research team within BlackRock Global Fixed Income, the successful candidate will be an analyst for the Japanese USD and JPY denominated credits from various corporate and financial sectors in debt markets. They will be working closely with the APAC research team, executing the credit research agenda feeding into the Asian and global credit platforms and leveraging investment expertise across BlackRock’s wider investment research platform including but not limited to US and European FI, and Credit platforms. This role is for candidates who aspire to be a fixed income investment professional and be part of a highly motivated team.

Knowledge / Experience required
• The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years of experience and a proven track record of generating alpha. CFA charter holder preferred.
• Demonstrated fundamental research, analytical skills, with strong attention to detail. Extensive Japanese credit research experience required.
• Fluency in Japanese and English required.
• Excellent quantitative modeling and valuation skills and extensive experience in utilizing those skills within a financial services institution with familiarity and experience with bond and loan covenants.
• Disciplined organizational and project management skills, ability to manage competing workloads effectively, and deliver quality work on schedule.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal in Japanese and English. The successful candidate must have the confidence and ability to persuasively interact at the most senior levels of colleagues, management, and clients.
• Connections within the industry and proven ability to build and sustain internal and external relationships.
• Outstanding interpersonal characteristics, reputation, and team orientation, which will enable her/him to command the confidence, loyalty, and respect of investment colleagues and external constituents.
