How do International Students Work In the US after Graduating MBA?

Post MBA Work Visa in the USA for international students

One of the main purposes of pursuing an MBA is to advance your career and help you attain your career goals. Thus, many international students choose an MBA based on how easy it is to find employment and overall employment opportunities available in the host country. To work in the host country, you need a post MBA work visa. You’ll have to go through a rigorous process to successfully acquire the right to work in the job market of the host country.

Today, we will show how you get a job in the United States. To work in the US, you’ll need an OPT visa first. As this is a non-sponsored visa, employers can hire you without any sponsorship. After working with an OPT visa, you need to switch to an HB visa which is sponsored by employers. This visa allows you to work for 3 years basically, but you can apply for an extension. Therefore, you can work 6 years in the US in total. If you can work in the US for about 10 years, you can apply for a green card visa. This is a typical flow that international students work in the US.

Regarding OPT, it is basically a one-year work authorization visa and international students can get it if you apply. As you may know, however, employers tend to avoid applicants having only one-year OPT since he/she literally can work only one year.

Thus, if you want to work in the US as long as possible, you need a STEM degree allowing you to work 3 years in the US. Today, I’m showing the STEM MBA Programs.
