What will you be doing?
You will have individual accountability for day-to-day legal advice required to support our business and the sole responsibility for the corporate secretarial function in Japan
You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining documentation, including key business templates
Ensuring the independence of legal resources and advice
Ensuring you identify and communicate emerging legal risks to our colleagues and report and escalate issues in a timely manner and comply with internal standards
Promoting collaboration and effective knowledge sharing across the team and legal function including training for lawyers, business units and functions on legal risk issues
Developing valued relationships with senior stakeholders and compliance colleagues and coverage teams globally as well as managing the relationship with external law firms
You will share responsibility with legal department colleagues for the development of legal and compliance policies and procedures
Promoting a diverse culture in which the needs and perspectives of a wide range of stakeholders and partners are at the forefront of decision-making
応募資格(必須経験など)
What we’re looking for:
Lawyer admitted in Japan or a Common Law jurisdiction with significant post qualification experience, preferably including in-house experience
Strong technical ability and expertise in corporate (including corporate secretarial), commercial, employment and regulatory law in Japan
Extensive experience as a lawyer managing legal risk in Japan and awareness of the key global regulations that apply to financial institutions
Japanese and English language skills required
