Dear reader,

Alpha Academy asked me to write shortly about my experience at Alpha Academy at the very last day.So here I go :)

I got the opportunity to do a summer internship at Alpha Academy . I was in charge of the marketing of the English website, the Facebook page and a project that I conducted. What I really liked about my internship was that they are open to new ideas and appreciate when you come with proposals. My manager Ayumi-san, helped me when I needed support but wanted me to think creatively in order to solve problems and target new clients.

In addition, I also got the opportunity to learn more about the Japanese working standards and culture, which was really interesting as it differs significantly compared with the Dutch way of doing business. For instance, here at Alpha Academy it was expected to work from 11 till 9 or 10 o'clock. Meanwhile in the Netherlands they try to stick to the 9 to 5 work mentality. Eventually I got used to the culture differences and adapted easily.

I also noticed that my colleagues were extremely kind and modest. Everytime I got stuck they tried their hardest to help me out. They really made me feel home at Alpha Academy.
Yes, this internship has taught me a lot in terms of doing business and made myself more open-minded towards the Japanese culture. I will miss my manager Ayumi-san and my colleagues Ayuri-san, and Misaki-san and hope to see them again in the near future. I would like to thank the Alpha Academy team for giving me a wonderful experience!
