An executive MBA, or EMBA, is a graduate level business degree. An executive MBA program is a lot like a regular MBA program. The main difference is that an executive MBA program is primarily designed to educate working executives, managers, entrepreneurs, and other business leaders.

During the selection period, EMBA admissions teams look for a varied professional background and with diverse work experience. It is assumed that applicants will already have extensive business knowledge picked up over their career.

Executive MBA programs typically span 19-24 months. The program format includes classroom study and possible travel for business seminars on weekends. Students may also complete a global experience abroad for international business practice. The latter part of the program usually allows students to conduct applied research and case studies in order to produce a final capstone thesis for graduation.
